Blue Planet II - One Ocean

Our knowledge of life beneath the waves has been transformed. Using cutting-edge technology, One Ocean takes us on a journey from the tropics to the poles, to reveal new worlds and extraordinary never seen before animal behaviours. In the tropical coral reefs, a baby dolphin is taught its secret medicinal properties, a tusk fish demonstrates a surprising level of ingenuity – tool use . And in the Seychelles, metre-long giant trevally fish leap clear out of the water to snatch young birds on the wing. In the seasonal seas, thousands of mobula rays gather at night, setting off an enchanting bioluminescent firework display. In Japan, a female ‘Kobudai’ fish undergoes an extraordinary metamorphosis- she changes gender. And in the Arctic, orcas use dramatic tail-slaps to stun herring.
